Partner Organisations

The following is an exhaustive list of organisations that have joined with each other to form PEBBLE, with a short statement about each.

The Council of British Druid Orders

The Council was originally formed in 1988 by several major Orders to lobby over access to Stonehenge. It now consists of more than twenty Orders, individuals and like-minded groups. Meetings are held four times a year to discuss common Druid policy.

Derbyshire Pagans

The Derbyshire Pagans have been up and running since 2003. We are an organisation made up of like-minded people from all different paths, and from all over the U.K.

Our aim is to promote safe contact for like-minded people to get together and socialize; to distribute information, without bias, between pagans concerning paganism; to ensure that all pagans can follow their own path, safely, and without discrimination from outside forces or within paganism itself; and to ensure, where possible, that Paganism is not brought into disrepute.

We provide, once a month, three evening gatherings at Derby, Cromford and Chesterfield plus a Derby afternoon gathering. There is an annual Chesterfield picnic, an annual Pagan Camp and an annual Yule Ball.

We do not have subscriptions, membership is free.

The Druid Network (TDN)

An international organization, TDN aims to be a source of inspiration and information about the Druid tradition, ancient and modern. Definitively not an Order itself, TDN brings together Orders, Groves and individuals, offering a forum for sharing skills and teachings, inspiration and experience, supporting environmental and community projects, providing information about courses and sponsoring learning opportunities, creating camps and public rituals, encouraging the creative active expression of living Druidry in its many forms. The magical heart of the Network is the Druid Order of the Yew.

Heathens for Progress

Heathens For Progress (HFP) is one of the largest UK religious groups for followers of Anglo-Saxon and Norse polytheism. This form of paganism is known variously as Heathenry, Northern Tradition, Asatru and Odinism.

HFP was establised in 2004 to support PEBBLE and the campaign to win public recognistion and legal rights for pagans. HFP are fully in support of PEBBLE's aim to promote paganism as one diverse faith and Heathens will greatly benefit by working closely with the Wiccan/Witchcraft traditions and Druidism. Together the three traditions number over 40,000 individuals based on the results of the last national census, making paganism the seventh largest faith in the UK.

The Aims and Objectives of the PF as set out in the Constitution are:

  1. To seek to support all Pagans in their personal and public life, to help ensure that they have the same rights as the followers of other beliefs and members of other religions.
  2. To promote a positive profile for Pagans and Paganism and to provide information on Pagan paths and beliefs to the media, official bodies and the greater community.
  3. To facilitate effective communication, education and dialogue within and between Pagan communities and with non Pagans, through publications and events.

The Order of Bards Ovates & Druids

The Order of Bards Ovates & Druids is a spiritual group dedicated to practising, teaching, and developing Druidry as a valuable and inspiring spirituality.

Membership of the Order is open to followers of all faiths and none, regardless of gender, sexual orientation or ethnic origin, and there are currently over eight thousand members in fifty countries.

Both the Feminine and the Masculine principles are celebrated and represented in the Order’s teachings and membership. The Order is not patriarchal or biased in favour of men – many women are in leadership roles and over half the membership is female.

Although most members practise Druidry on their own, there are over ninety groups around the world that offer the opportunity for members to meet and celebrate together. In addition individual members and groups organise gatherings, retreats, conferences and workshops.

For the last twenty years the Order has been offering a comprehensive training in Druidry which covers all three grades of Bard, Ovate and Druid.
