MINUTES

  1. Apologies for Absence
Apologies were received from HFP and the PA.
  2. Minutes of the Last Meeting
Minutes of the last meeting were distributed and approved.
  3. PEBBLE Website
It had been agreed prior to the meeting that a new website was needed to increase awareness and transparency about PEBBLE, both for Pagans and government bodies. JW showed the basic premise of the new website and how he hopes to progress it. The structure was further discussed and agreed.
It was agreed that a page defining PEBBLE and its aims should be created. A definition had existed on the old PEBBLE website; if this were not lost when the website was corrupted, ERO agreed to forward it to JW.
It was agreed that the 2001 census information be put onto a dedicated page.
A review of the website will take place once all the sections have been completed.
  4. Membership of PEBBLE
The criteria for Pagan organizations to join PEBBLE formally were reviewed. Each current member organization agreed to send JW a paragraph about themselves for the website.
It was agreed that an email list would be set up, facilitating discussion between members. JW agreed to do this.
The variety of groups and individuals who wish to join or help PEBBLE was discussed. It was agreed no exclusivity must exist, PEBBLE being open to any organization that fulfills the criteria.
It was decided that OBOD will be approached for membership into PEBBLE.
  5. Working Groups
It was agreed that groups already providing a service that is of interest to PEBBLE should be supported by PEBBLE, rather than PEBBLE taking on similar work itself. Examples of these groups are HAD and the Pagan Prison Ministry.
It was agreed these would be termed Working Groups, and the distinction was made between these and membership organizations.
  6. Education
It was decided that there should be an education section on the website for information that might help Pagan parents, students and teachers. This would include information already collected from the meeting between PEBBLE and the DfES, together with information learnt about SACREs in each of the 153 local authorities.
SW suggested that PEBBLE should communicate with Pagan societies in universities, setting up a student network, including a database of contacts for each university. MA added that a PN Member had started a Student Network between several universities.
Further to the decision to split the Pebble workload between committee members it was decided that each section of the website should have a committee member responsible for taking queries and RFI's. These could include legal, charity, education, archaeology, students, hospitals found in the Current Projects section.
  7. Police
No progress has been made in contacting the police. PEBBLE is still awaiting a response from them.
  8. Date of Next Meeting
The next meeting was scheduled for April 2006, and it was agreed that Oxford would be a central and accessible location.
